me doest think
it was w.c.fields who once quipp'd
never follow a child on the stage
cos you'll always bomb & be a flop
their unintentional humor is ten times better than scripted comedy
carissa being a young dazzling damsel at 7 weeks
me being a fossilized greyhaired antique at 60+
eye have had my dazling daze
with the sun&moon&stars
with the wind&rain&clouds
eye have crawled&jumped&flown&crashed
been a pirate/poet/klown/koyote/koward&hero
time to hand over the torch to another generation
to light up the sky
it is good when you can experience your grownup children(erica&carson)
having their children
being part of that third generation
braggin' rights of having three grandchildren..........blayke&marcus&carissa
life doesn't get any better than this
then you can feel what your grandparents felt
love'swarmth heating up a worshipping heart
a worsippingheart fogging up teary eyes
&the night was made for poets & drunks & madmen
& grandfathers who have much more to zay then they have ever zaid
grey&gregarious..............lopsided&loquacious
as eye'm with the woman of my dreams
as she sleeps with the man in her dreams
both of us never very far away
from our wideawake&sleeping thoughts
if the midnight owls don't give a hoot neither do eye
see you on the flipside
where this aging tired skinned man hides a child living inside of him
that carissa can communicate with
& can keep young till its time to go

tonite eye feel like
eye'm 59.9999999999999999999999
until the big six-o tomorrow
where did all that time go
eye'm weigh over the hill
and as eye gaze back
the hill is long-time-gone
kontempating on bob dylan's lyricallyrics
from the song "my back pages"
"in a soldiers stance, i aimed my hand
at the mongrel gods who teach
fearing not that i'd become my enemy
in the instant that i preach
my pathway led by confusion boats
mutiny fromm stern to bow
ah, but i was so much older then
i'm younger than that now"
ah we art a wee bit anti-authoritorian eye surmise
& know thy self as thy own worst enemy
far to often consciously self destructin'....
ah fellow swabbies a good sailor is a bitchin' sailor'
never trust anyone who doth knot show his or her true kolors
(people aren't against you they are just for themselves)
..like a phoenix one must rise from the smokey ashes
& like the death of the zen caterpiller metamorphize
into the metaphorical butterfly
6 minutes & eye'll be 60
too many candles to blow out
all 9 l(katnip(lives already snuffed out
long in the tooth
blind in the tri-focaled i's
but a poetikal heart that sees what most others miss
my life is most likely 3/4's over......maybe 9/10
......floating unconsciously in wakantanka's holy hand
see you all on the flipside.........a hardrainisgoingtofall
a feather for your thoughts.......byebye

firstthereisamountain-thenthereisnomoutain
been trying to find the following quotes
scribbled 'em down someplacesomewheresomehow
finally found 'em.........
"the only zen you find on top of the mountain
is the zen you bring up there"
-robert m. pinsis(hope spelling is korrect)
"if you cannot find the truth
right where you are,
where else do you expect to find it"
-dogen
often we see the universe better
with eyes closed gazing through our hearts
then with eyes open looking through our minds
when the lights go out
is the blind person the only one able to really see
a friend used to always zay
"that tomorrow isn't promised to us"
we must make the most out of today
we only have so much time to prioritize our priorities
make positive use of what we often have no control over
life is like a butterfly that lands in our open hand
and as we close it the butterfly flutters away
one day we learn to zay hello then not long after .....we must zay goodbye
oh her lips are sweet
her eyes are deep
her skin is soft
her hands heal the hidden pain
her words speak in sublime poetry
my heart belongs to only her
eye'll miss her long before eye'm gone

quotablequotes of the daze..........
many years ago
bev& eye were touring a bookstore
& eye picked up "the little book of zen"
& read the following quote
....what did the zen master zay to the hog dog vender
" make me one with everything"
eye laughed so hard my belly ached for two daze
being a poet ....one enjoys reversing things to see something in new novel way
which most people never think about doing......here goes
....what did the hot dog vender zay to the zen master
can you make me one with everything.....
would a hot dog vender already be one with everything
surely wouldn't be your normal capitalist or hooked on materialism
just maintaining a lifestyle that keeps him at balance & at peace
recently eye had the chance to use this line on a hot dog vender
asking him.... first if he knew what a zen master was......... zaid "kind of"
then eye asked him........if he would make me one with everything
he zaid o.k...........
as eye lifted my arms outstretched to the sky
& then pretending to smear mustard & onions & pickle relish on a hotdog bun
then he handed me a hot dog without everything on it.........
some guys can really screw up a two car funeral................
no sojourn to any kind of earthly utopia for me
(another variation on the zenzational zen line is)
a buddhist approuches a hot dog vendor and zays
"make me one with everything"
he gives the vendor a $20 bill and waits
finally he says "where's my change"
zays the vender : "all change must come from within"
a film that kind of plays with this concept is
"ghost dog : the way of the samurai"
except ghost dog & the hotdog vendor speak different languages yet ztill kommunicate
better than most people who speak the same language but miscommunicate
how fun & bizarre & enriching & uplifting the use of words be.....till next time

quotablequotes of the daze..........
this one is very inspiring
& makes one walk in their own worn moccasins
wondering who am i........where did i come from......where am i going
maybe why haven't i been more of a humanitarian instead of egotistical
like the ole zaying....everything we do is either a curse of a blessing
a miracle or a crime
making us either end up as criminals or miraclemakers
if you practice what you preach then you don't have to preach........a.o.k....poncho
Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, "My son, the battle is between the two "wolves" inside us all.
One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

quotablequotes of the daze..........
somedaze your hot & somedaze your icy kold
like oscar wilde zaid
(who my lifetimewife beverly likes to quote)
"only the dull are witty at breakfast"
anyway upon entering the unwideawake premises of d.o.t.land this morning
eye quipp'd quick rapidfirely to two fellow d.o.t. female workers
"eye'm pretty easy to get along with
(long pause) 10% of the time"
....for some reason they both broke out in instantaneous laughter
only way to start a state job on hump daze
one of those half-hothumid daze & half rainyday-woman daze
that bob dylan sang the following lyrics about
"everybody is either making love or expectin' rain on desolation row"
or as simon & garfunkle once uttered in a song
"when your talking about dylan that man thinks your talking about dylan thomas
the man ain't got no culture"
toiling over me top 20 movies filmed about iwanians in ioway
maybe tomorrow will fill the hayseed&sodbuster&urbanrenewal void
speaking of that...........was able to talk to an ioway indian at the meskwakie powwow
always interesting & informative.........
bought a braided twist of medicinal sweetgrass from him
a great pbs special on the ioway indians will be presented this fall
enough psychobabbling in the blog-asphere

A BBHQ Insta-Quote:
"The memory should be specially taxed in youth, since it is then that it is strongest and most tenacious. But in choosing the things that should be committed to memory the utmost care and forethought must be exercised; as lessons well learnt in youth are never forgotten." -- Arthur Schopenhauer
=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~
And now, the BBHQ Joke of the Week:
Oh, how we love words. These are some... strange definitions. Read themslowly... some may take a second or two to sink in.
EYEDROPPER: A clumsy ophthalmologist.
HEROES: What a guy in a boat does.
LEFT BANK: What the robber did when his bag was full of money.
MISTY: How golfers create divots.
PARADOX: Two physicians.
PARASITES: What you see from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
PHARMACIST: A helper on the farm.
POLARIZE: What penguins see with.
PRIMATE: Removing your spouse from the couch in front of the TV.
RELIEF: What trees do in the spring.
RUBBERNECK: What you do to relax your wife.
SELFISH: What the owner of a seafood store does.
And our favorite:
SUDAFED: Litigation brought against a government official.
